Hidden places beneath cities that hardly anyone knows about. Beneath many major cities lie vast labyrinths of tunnels with endless branches and shafts. Old maintenance shafts, escape tunnels, water systems, and much more. During the Cold War, many such tunnel systems were built so people could move between important buildings undetected. Many of the tunnels were so secret that they were not marked on official city maps. Even today, hidden tunnel systems like these are still regularly discovered during construction work.
